What is truSculpt Flex?
TruSculpt Flex is a device that transmits electrical current to specific muscle groups in your abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. The treatment is a safe and popular method of sculpting and toning areas that may not be responding to regular exercise. Spring Street Dermatology offers this high-demand treatment in its SOHO, Tribeca, and Uptown locations.
What does truSculpt Flex treat?
The abdomen, thighs, and buttocks are common areas that truSculpt Flex treats, but the arms and calves can be treated as well. Based on your current fitness level, body shape, and goals, your board-certified dermatologist in New York will guide you in choosing the best treatment plan with truSculpt Flex.

What to Expect During a Treatment Session
TruSculpt Flex is a non-invasive procedure that tones and sculpts without extra visits to the gym, but after your treatment, you may feel as though you just completed a workout. Based on your fitness and sculpting goals, your dermatologist will know the exact locations to place the truSculpt Flex pods to maximize your results. The pods are placed with truGel, which acts as a conduit for the electrical current to reach your muscles.
Your treatment may last about 45 minutes with three different modes that contract your muscles with multi-directional stimulation (MDS):
- Prep Mode – similar to a warm-up during an exercise session. Prep Mode also helps your muscles build up a tolerance to the electrical current for future treatments
- Tone Mode – this is the core of the treatment where the electrical impulses rapidly contract your muscles to build strength
- Sculpt Mode – this mode provides deeper contractions that further enhance your muscle tone and body sculpting results
Prepping for your treatment is minimal; your dermatologist may recommend that you do not exercise on the day of your treatment, but you may return to your normal activities the next day.

TruSculpt Flex Questions & Answers
Q: How is truSculpt Flex different from truSculpt ID?
A: TruSculpt Flex is a treatment for muscle toning, sculpting, and contouring, and uses electrical current to stimulate muscle contraction. truSculpt ID is also a non-surgical treatment, but uses radiofrequency (RF) to heat and shrink fat cells in targeted areas. Additionally, collagen production is stimulated during the procedure.
Q: Are there any possible side effects from a truSculpt Flex treatment?
A: The side effects of a truSculpt Flex treatment may be similar to what you feel after a workout:
- Slight tingling in the treated area(s)
- Temporary pink or redness of the skin (where the pods make contact)
- Small post-treatment muscle contractions
- Muscle soreness
The side effects are minimal, but always check with your dermatologist before starting a treatment to clarify any additional concerns you may have.
Q: How long will my results last?
A: The results you see from a full regimen of truSculpt Flex treatments are long lasting. Coupled with regular exercise, a healthy diet, and periodic maintenance sessions, you may maintain the sculpted, toned effect of your truSculpt Flex treatments.
Q: Does a truSculpt Flex treatment hurt?
A: Most patients do not report pain during a truSculpt Flex treatment. Your muscles will contract gently in the beginning and intensify throughout the session to maximize your results.
Q: What is recovery from a truSculpt Flex treatment like?
A: Recovery after a truSculpt Flex treatment is relatively short, similar to your recovery time after a good workout. You may feel tingling or muscle soreness in the targeted treatment area, but these types of symptoms may disappear within 48 to 72 hours.

Botox
Frowning, squinting, and smiling leave behind fine lines and wrinkles over time. Neuromodulators can be injected directly with a tiny needle into the muscles responsible and work by reducing crease-causing contractions.
Dermal Fillers
As we mature, loss of volume leads to wrinkles, prominent nasolabial folds, thinned lips, exaggerated jowls, and marionette lines. The natural deterioration of underlying bone and soft tissue leaves a hollowed, aged appearance. Fillers injected below the skin surface can correct age-related volume loss.

truSculpt
truSculpt is the latest noninvasive technology to target problem areas of fat and cellulite that are resistant to diet and exercise.
