Skinvive is one of the newest injectables by Juvederm. It’s the first and only FDA-Approved hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable that improves cheek smoothness and hydration. It helps the skin retain its natural moisture resulting in a more hydrated, refreshed appearance lasting up to 6 months. 

The treatment itself is relatively quick. Patients have the option to apply a topical numbing cream prior to the procedure but numbing isn’t required. Your provider will begin by drawing a grid pattern across both cheeks indicating where the injections will be placed. They then use a very small needle and inject the hyaluronic acid microdroplets in small aliquots across your cheeks. Some patients will see immediate results, but the full effects typically take between 2 – 4 weeks. These results will last for about 6 months which makes Skinvive so patients can have the treatment twice a year for maintenance.

Skinvive is ideal for both men & women ranging in their mid-twenties and upwards and is suitable for all skin types. It’s particularly nice for patients as we approach the colder months when our skin is exposed to the dry, Winter air from the outdoors. And indoors in offices or apartments that can have less humidity during the colder months.

Patients can expect to see some minor lumps or bumps at the injection site which resolves within a few days. It’s also possible to experience some mild bruising but is not common. It’s recommended that patients avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and consumption of alcohol 24 hours after their treatment.
