Dr. Aisleen Diaz received her Bachelor’s of Biological Sciences degree with Honors in Biology and a minor in Philosophy at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She obtained her Doctorate of Medicine at the Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where she graduated at the top of her class, inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and was awarded with Academic Honors, Clinical Distinction, and the Wolters Kluwer Medical Education Excellence award. During her third and fourth year of medical school, she completed a year-long research fellowship in the Laboratory of Inflammatory Skin Diseases under the supervision of Dr. Emma Guttman-Yassky at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Diaz returned to South Florida where she completed her internship at the University of Miami-Holy Cross Hospital Program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She then completed her dermatology residency training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, where she was chosen by her peers to serve as Chief Resident during her final year. She now serves as a Clinical Instructor in the department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital.
She specializes in both cosmetic and medical dermatology. She offers expertise in a wide range of dermatological conditions including acne, skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, pigmentary disorders, and more. Her cosmetic services include lasers and other energy-based devices for skin rejuvenation, HA and bio stimulatory injectables, botox, skin tightening, chemical peels, and other treatments designed to help patients achieve healthy and beautiful skin. She prides herself in taking the time to listen, answer questions, and uniquely tailor treatment plans for each patient.
Dr. Diaz has published numerous articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, JAMA Dermatology, and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. She has presented at international and local meetings including the Society for Investigative Dermatology Annual Meeting, Skin Health and Disease Keystone Symposia, and the Dermatology Society of Greater New York. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Skin of Color Society, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Diaz grew up in South Florida and is fluent in English and Spanish. Her hobbies include trying out new NYC restaurants, weightlifting, hiking, travel, and cuddling with her four-year old Maltese, Flynn.
