Kunal Malik, MD
Dr. Kunal Malik is a board-certified dermatologist at Spring Street Dermatology. A native New Yorker, Dr. Malik completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at New York University before earning his MD with the highest distinction from the State University of New York- Downstate College of Medicine in 2018.
He completed a year-long research fellowship studying inflammatory skin diseases jointly between Rockefeller University and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the laboratory of Dr. Emma Guttman. Dr. Malik completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Plainview Hospital / Northwell Health System and his residency in Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was selected as Chief Resident in 2021-2022 based upon his performance and commitment to excellence.
Dr. Malik expertly treats a wide range of skin, hair, and nail concerns in all skin types, including annual skin cancer screenings, eczema, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, and alopecia. He is highly skilled in aesthetic treatments, including Botox, chemical peels, dermal fillers, microneedling, and resurfacing lasers. Dr. Malik prides himself on listening to his patients’ concerns and devising a holistic plan to provide the most effective, evidence-based treatments with high patient satisfaction.
Dr. Malik serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he teaches residents and medical students. He has conducted extensive research in medical dermatology, and his work has been widely published in journals, including the Journal of the American Association of Dermatology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
Dr. Malik is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the New York Academy of Medicine, the New York Dermatology Society, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the Skin of Color Society, American Society Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
